As you clear snow from around your home, the Hannibal Fire Department asks that you also keep your fire hydrant clear of snow.

Hannibal fire officials remind you that, as you shovel your driveway, take a moment to clear any snow that may be obstructing a hydrant and make a path to the curb.

Officials say that if your home is on fire every second counts, so firefighters not having to dig out fire hydrants could be a matter of life and death.
