The council approved a ground lease agreement with American Queen Steamboat Operating Company, allowing the company’s cruise ships to dock on the Hannibal riverfront when they come to town.

American Queen will compensate the city in exchange for docking rights – an annual fee to be placed in escrow for repairs and maintenance, along with rent of one dollar per passenger.

Also, a number of requests for street closures and use of city-owned property for special events were approved, from a tractor parade and show June 5th to National Tom Sawyer Days June 26th through July 5th, to the Hannibal Graduation Parade May 21st and Hannibal High graduation May 27th.
