Effective today, March 19, all city government offices in Hannibal are closed to the public.  Employees will continue to report to work and run business as usual, but lobbies and public spaces will be closed to the general population.  The exception is the Hannibal Police Department, where the lobby will continue to be open 24 hours a day.In an interview with Y101 Radio yesterday, Hannibal Mayor James Hark said he has no intention to ask any local businesses to curb their activity.  That includes bars and restaurants, which are open to the public as usual.  Hark says it's important to support our local business and prop up the economy, but we should use our judgement and take proper precautions too.
