Hannibal Band Day Canceled

The Sound of Silence is the perfect theme song for the Hannibal Band Day 2020. The Hannibal school district announced it has decided to cancel this year's Band Day due to COVID-19 concerns.

This would have been the 72nd year for Band Day in Hannibal. It's an event that draws more than 30 area schools.  According to the Hannibal Pirates Athletics and Activities Page,

"This was a very difficult decision to make, but we did not feel that we could safely hold this even with so many schools planning on attending."

Band Day allows small schools to march alongside bigger schools in an afternoon parade. It traditionally culminates in a big field show in the evening.
