The Memorial Day holiday is rapidly approaching and with it will come the sound of basketballs bouncing off of the pavement in The District. Just how many basketballs depends on how many teams will be registered to play. With that said, the Quincy Exchange Club, which has hosted the Gus Macker event for 27 years, has announced that the registration deadline has been extended to Monday, May 14.

The Macker 3-on-3 Tournament featuring 4 players per team will be held on May 26 and 27 on the streets around and near Washington Park in Quincy and games will be officiated by registered officials. To signup, go to www.macker.com.

The Gus Macker Tournament is the Exchange Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year.  Thousands of dollars have been raised over the years with all proceeds going back in to the community for local club projects.

This year’s event is presented by the Quincy Exchange Club and is sponsored by Refreshment Services Pepsi, The Knapheide Corporation, The Herald Whig, Quincy Recycle, Republic Services, Quincy Medical Group and WGEM. Townsquare Media is proud to be a court sponsor as well.
