What is better, getting your nutrients through the food you eat, or the supplements you take?

I am trying to get into some kind of shape for the upcoming spring and summer seasons so I asked my doctor which is the better way to get your nutrients. He said go to the fridge. Eating cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli in their whole form increases the absorption of cancer fighting nutrients. Now I must admit that every now and then I will put a little cheese on my broccoli, but that cuts down on the super healthy benefits. Dang it. So I guess I will have to eat my broccoli naked. But I would rather be naked than dead. So yes doctor, I will eat my broccoli naked and I will keep off supplements,which they say are bad for you anyway.

Trying to stay healthy is hard work but the benefits are worth it. Green broccoli rules.
