Kristen Gengenbacher, a sophomore at the University of San Diego, was told last week that she is one of 36 players selected by USA Volleyball who will train and compete in June as part of the U.S. Collegiate National Team's program in Indianapolis.

The squad is considered a tryout for the U.S. Women's National Team. According to a story in the Herald Whig, Gengenbacher, a Quincy Notre Dame High School graduate, was one of six setters selected. Gengenbacher was selected as an alternate to the team last year.

Her coach in Indianapolis will be Karch Kiraly who will coach the U.S. women's team at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Kristen is the daughter of Rick and Becky Gengenbacher.
