The Friends of The Log Cabins has announced that their organization has been awarded a Challenge Grant to help rebuild the 1828 Fraser Log Cabin on Quinsippi Island. The Fraser Log Cabin was used as a Pioneer School in the 1800's.The Friends of The Log Cabins goal is to hire a preservation and restoration company to re-erect the structure in the next few months and open it up for tours as part of the Lincoln-era Log Cabin Village located on the Island in Quincy.  It would make a great opportunity for visitors to experience just what school looked like in the 1800's.

With this matching grant, which is up to $5,000, the time is now to help the Friends organization with a donation now so the matching monies will help aid their cause.

To make a tax-deductible donation, mail checks to Friends of The Log Cabins, P.O. Box 3122, Quincy, Illinois 62305 or go to www.logcabinvillagequincyil.com. For further information, call 1-800-978-4748 or email logcabinvillagequincyil@gmail.com.
