There are many families and individuals throughout Adams County and across the country who are still struggling to put food on the table due to the lack of work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thankfully there are organizations stepping up to address the issue of people going hungry, and they are back at it again this Thursday.

The Quincy Family YMCA located near 30th and Maine in Quincy will be handing out boxers of FREE food again tomorrow (Thursday, October 22nd). They posted on their Facebook page saying...

"We are happy to announce that we are once again distributing food on Thursday, October 22nd starting at 4PM until supplies last. We will be limiting 1 box per vehicle. Thank you to Sisbro and United Rentals - Quincy, IL for helping us make this possible for Adams County."

The food handout, which was made possible by the USDA Farmers, was donated to the Families Food Box Program. Food boxes contain perishable food items such as Chicken, potatoes, butternut squash, milk, apples, and other items as well.

A reminder this is while supplies last so please take advantage of this program if you really need it, and if you don't need to use this program but know of people who would benefit greatly from a free box of food please help spread the word to those families! We all have to do our part to help one another during these difficult times.
