Arts Quincy and the Illinois Veterans home are teaming up this year to give vets free art classes with their Made in American series. In July (Wednesday, July 11th) there will be a Made in America: Ceramic Slab & Coil Vessel Clay class for vets.

If you know of a vet that is interested in taking this free class, or others that will be offered through September, get him/her registered now. Call Arts Quincy at 217-222-3432 or the Illinois Veterans Home at 217-222-8641 ext. 359. Classes are on Wednesdays, July 11, 18, 25 and August 1 from 5:15 - 6:30 pm at Quincy Art Center (1515 Maine Street).

The September session will feature cartooning as the upcoming class for that month. Arts Quincy is already planning on sessions for 2019. These classes are made possible by a grant from the Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri by a gift from the late Al Beck, a local Korean War veteran and art instructor, and the individual and business members of Arts Quincy.
