Fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, and food will fill Hannibal's Central Park for the first Farmers Market of the year on Saturday May 9.

The Farmers Market will make adjustments to comply with Missouri's social distancing guidelines.  The vendor tents will be spaced further apart to avoid lines and allow customers to move about with more room.  The vendors will not offer product samples and customers are asked to minimize handling produce.

Central Park Farmers Market manager Steve Huse said, "We are recommending that everyone at the market limit their amount of socializing while at the market.  But you're still going to be able to interact with the vendors and ask questions."

The Farmers Market at Central Park will be open every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until noon through October.  Picnic tables and public restrooms are closed at Central Park and at other city parks to discourage public gatherings.  The plan is to fully reopen parks in Hannibal on June 1.
