With the Super Bowl coming up on February 1, football fans are thinking about who's going to be in the game, and those that hate football (but watch the Super Bowl, anyway) are thinking about the commercials.

Doritos is sponsoring a contest for people that have always dreamed of making their own Super Bowl ads. The Crash the Super Bowl contest accepted nearly 5,000 submissions from 29 different countries. Ten finalist videos have been selected from those entries. One of them will be chosen by Dortios to air during the Super Bowl, and another, chosen by online fan votes, will win its creator $1 million and a chance to work for a full year at Universal Pictures in Hollywood. The fan-voted ad will also air during the Super Bowl.

I went to the Dortios website and watched all ten of the contest finalists. Honestly, I'm not sold on any of them. I didn't think they were bad, in fact, I thought most of them were amusing, but I'm not sure they're at the level of "Super Bowl commercial," which we expect to be the absolute best-of-the-best advertisements that are ever made. On the other hand, I've generally been disappointed by the professional Super Bowl ads in recent years, so maybe I'm too picky.

Of the contest finalists, I most-liked the little girl at the lemonade stand, the guy in the airplane, and the kids in the backseat.

What do you think? Which of the Crash the Super Bowl finalists would you vote for? Are there any Super Bowl ads from recent years that you absolutely loved?
