A thought occurred to me yesterday afternoon as I was snapping a picture with my iPhone. I use that phone to take more pictures than to make phone calls. By a lot. It isn't even close. In fact, there are several things I do with the phone more often than I actually talk on it. And I suspect most of us are all in the same boat.

It seems like no matter what you might be interested in, there truly is an "app for that." It's not just a marketing statement. Making a list of the most common things I do with my phone, it would probably rank something like this:

  1. Pictures
  2. Text Messages
  3. Calls
  4. Email
  5. eBay

And I'm not even a hardcore smartphone user - I don't live on it like a lot of people I know. It would not be surprising to find out that making calls ranks even lower than 3rd for a good percentage of "phone" owners.

How would your list rank? Do you even make calls with your phone anymore?
