This Thursday night the Quincy Gems will open their 2019 Prospect League season with a game against the Cape Girardeau Catfish, a new entry in the league this season.  Game time is 6:35. It is also Y101 Night at the ballpark. For the past several seasons Y101 has invited (through a drawing) nine little leaguers to join the starting 9 Quincy Gems players on the field and have their names announced by the P.A. announcer during the opening ceremonies. That will take place again this season.

Long-time Y101 morning host Dennis Oliver, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, will throw out the opening pitch to the Big Dog prior to the game's start.  The National Anthem will be sung by Mark Hespen, KICK-FM's morning co-host. Y101 will be giving away t-shirts during the game as well.

Also, during the night, a 50-50 drawing will be held with all proceeds going to the Walk to End Alzheimer's which will take place in September. So please stop by and purchase a ticket to help D.O. and others in their fight against Alzheimer's.

Hope to see you Thursday night supporting the Quincy Gems and fight against Alzheimer's.
