The Curtis Lovelace murder trial will once again gain some national attention as NBC will be devoting a segment of "Dateline NBC" to the high profile case. Lovelace, a Adams County prosecutor, former Quincy School Board President and standout football player for Quincy High School and the University of Illinois, was accused of murdering his wife Cory Lovelace in February of 2006. Police at that time didn't have enough evidence to determine the death to be a murder.

In December of 2013, 7 years later, the case was re-opened and murder charges were filed against Lovelace. That trial held in Adams County ended in a hung jury. Lovelace was retried in Sangamon County months later where he was eventually acquitted.

He has since filed a civil lawsuit against the City of Quincy, Adams County as well as several individuals. The Dateline NBC program can be seen locally on WGEM-TV this Friday night at 8 p.m.
