Which one will we get?

While doing research for a couple of articles on Girl Scout cookies, I found out that there is a new cookie coming out this year: S'mores!

You remember making s'mores over a campfire. Chocolate, marshmallow, sandwiched between a couple of graham crackers. Super sticky, but super yummy!

But this is where the controversy lies: the Girls Scouts have introduced two different S'mores cookies. According to a Girl Scout press release, this was done as a nod to the different ways people s'more. One is a crispy graham cookie double dipped in creme icing and enrobed in a chocolatey coating. The other is a crunchy graham sandwich cookie with a chocolate and marshmallowy filling.

How will we know which one we will get in the tri-state area? The "Meet The Cookies" page at the Girl Scout Web site shows the chocolate covered S'mores being manufactured by ABC Bakers, where the graham sandwich version is baked by Little Brownie Bakers.

According to Miranda DeLeeuw, Membership Coordinator for the Girls Scouts of Northeast Missouri, Little Brownie Bakers manufactures the cookies distributed in this area. So it would be safe to assume that we will be getting the graham sandwich version.

If it wasn't for two different bakeries supplying cookies to two different areas of the country, I would love to have a taste test between the two S'mores cookies. Best cookie wins.

Just as long as I don't have to pull melted marshmallow out of my beard...
