A former Hannibal man is in custody on public indecency and child pornography charges.

Hannibal Police report noticing a suspicious vehicle in the Steamboat Bend Shopping Center shortly after midnight Friday. Police say the vehicle occupant, 42-year-old Donald Pafford of Brentwood, formerly of Hannibal, gave suspicious reasons for being parked there. Police left the area but they returned upon learning that Pafford is a registered sex offender.

Pafford’s actions led officers to approach him and arrest him for public indecency. During questioning, Pafford admitted to having images of child pornography on his cell phone. Pafford is held in the Marion County Jail on charges of possession of child pornography. Bond is set at 100-thousand dollars.
