The Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce is offering up to $10,000 in grants for entrepreneurs in Adams County with “shovel ready" business plans. The Business Plan Grant Program is basically the Business Plan Competition—without the deadlines. “We felt the deadlines with the Business Plan Competition were a barrier to entrepreneurs, because not all entrepreneurs are ready to open their businesses at the same time. The Business Plan Grant Program is a rolling grant that can be applied for any time of the year, as long as funds are available,” said Amy Looten, executive director of the Chamber.

The purpose of the Business Plan Grant Program is to foster new business initiatives as well as business expansions in Adams County. Applications must include business plans, and a committee will review each plan on concept and innovation, viability, and economic impact. If an applicant doesn’t receive a grant, the applicant will receive feedback from the committee in order to improve their business plans.

Application packets can be picked up at the Chamber office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday on the second floor of The Oakley Lindsay Center, or can be downloaded from the Chamber’s website at www.quincychamber.org.
