CASA Offering New Programs in Brown, Cass & Schuyler Counties

The Advocacy Network for Children recently expanded its CASA program in Brown, Cass and Schuyler counties.  Informational meetings will be held in each of those counties to talk to interested individuals and answer any questions about becoming a CASA volunteer.  In addition, any business who is interested in learning more about the program is welcome to send a representative.

The meeting days, times and locations are as follows:

December 4, 12:15 p.m. at Brews of Mt. Sterling, 113 W. Main, Mt. Sterling

December 11, 10:30 a.m. at Rogers Bakery, 231 N. Liberty Street, Rushville

On December 18^th, informational meetings will be held at the CASA office serving the new three county programs at 12:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.  The office is located in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beardstown located at 301 W. Fourth Street in Beardstown.

CASA volunteers are trained community volunteers appointed by a judge to speak up for abused or neglected children in the court system.  CASA volunteers work alongside attorneys and social workers from case inception to its completion.  CASA volunteers come from all walks of life and no special experience is required.   Once trained, volunteers will represent the children of Brown, Cass and Schuyler counties.
