Typically, you'll find judges and law enforcement in court. This weekend, you can see them on the court.

The Battle of the Cuffs is an annual basketball game between area law enforcement agencies. The 6th annual showdown features Monroe County vs Ralls County. The doors open at the Mark Twain Senior High School Gym at 6 p.m., Saturday Jan. 12, with the tip-off at 6:30. There's no charge at the door, but there will be a free-will collection that benefits the local cancer charities and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Mark Twain Senior High School Project Prom will raise money through the concession stand.

The Ralls County team includes members of the New London and Perry Police Departments, the Sheriff's office, the City of Perry, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Lacing up sneakers for Monroe County will be representatives of the Sheriff's Department, the prosecutor's office, the Shelbina Police Department, Missouri State Park Rangers, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Paris R-II School.
