Area groups interested in raising funds for their organizations by staffing the Avenue of Lights should contact the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce by October 31.

A press release from the Chamber detailed the Avenue Advantage Program, which is open to area civic, school, church and community organizations:

Avenue of Lights organizers have expanded the Advantage Program to encompass the full run of the event, and would like each organization to submit 3 possible dates that will work for them. The organizers will confirm with the volunteer group based on date availability on a first come basis. Each club or organization must provide six adult volunteers on their designated night, provide a firm commitment prior to submitting request. A brief training session will be held prior to opening on their designated night."

Organizations wishing to participate should contact Mary at 217-222-7980, or e-mail info@avenueoflights.com.

The Avenue of Lights operates nightly from Thanksgiving to New Year's in Moorman-Wavering Park.

The Avenue of Lights will be open nightly from 5:30 -9:30 pm, Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day and will feature more than one hundred holiday displays in beautiful Moorman-Wavering Park. In the fifteenth year of operation, the Avenue of Lights has become a holiday tradition for kids of all ages and the Avenue Advantage Program provides Christmas cash for deserving organizations who give of their time."
