If your NCAA bracket is busted beyond all hope, here's a bracket you can't possibly lose except in the court of popular opinion.  What's your favorite breakfast cereal?SB Nation issued the Cereal Bracket Challenge and it's a doozy, loaded with some iconic brands.  Lucky Charms and Frosted Flakes earned #1 seeds. I think the bracketology is all kinds of jacked up.  Where are the Reece's Puffs? Honey Bunches of Oats?  How about LIFE cereal?  Here is the SB Nation Cereal Bracket.

Going with what I had to work with, I came up with this Final Four of Lucky Charms vs. Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Cap'n Crunch vs Cocoa Puffs.  It's a basically a coin toss for the winner depending on my mood.

In the morning, I like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.  For an afternoon bowl or a late-night treat, I'm feeling the Cocoa Puffs.

I surveyed some of my co-workers. The Big Dog dang near refused to participate because LIFE cereal didn't make the cut. Mikey likes it, and so does Dorsey.  He reluctantly choose Rice Krispies over Froot Loops in a head-to-head match up.  Harold Smith over at KHMO likes his honey.  He has Honey Nut Cheerios beating out Honey Smacks in his final.

Michael Rose took the cereal bracket challenge very seriously.  He's a man of many words, and he is totally into bracketology.  Here are his picks and his justifications:

Round 1:          Lucky Charms defeats Wheaties, because frankly, Wheaties sucks. How did they make it into this bracket. Apple Jacks barely squeaks by Fruit Loops. Cinnamon Toast Crunch wins another close game over Golden Grahams because some people can’t tell the difference. Raisin Bran wins the upset over Honey Nut Cheerios.

Frosted Flakes proves why they are the #1 seed, with a blistering win over Rice Krispies. Cocoa Puffs, the only chocolate flavored cereal in the bracket is dominant over Frosted Mini Wheats. Honey Smacks wins over Fruity Pebbles, even though many in the stands are wearing the classic “Sugar Smacks” jersey. Trix loses to Captain Crunch in the final game of the round.

Round 2:           Lucky Charms was unlucky in their attempt to advance in the bracket, losing to Apple Jacks. Raisin Bran has become the Cinderella story of the tournament, winning handily over Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Frosted Flakes continues their dominance in the tournament, winning over Cocoa Puffs. Honey Smacks squeaks out a win over Captain Crunch in a nail biter.

Round 3:           Raisin Bran’s Cinderella story ends with a hearty defeat at the hands of Apple Jacks. Frosted Flakes was behind the entire game, until the last 3 minutes when they rallied for a win over Honey Smacks.

Final Round:     A last second free throw puts Apple Jacks ahead at the buzzer, defeating the #1 seed Frosted Flakes.

Now, we invite you to take the breakfast cereal bracket challenge and ask your co-workers to play along.  See what kind trash talk you can start at the water cooler.
