Marion County Sheriff’s deputies are warning of another scam.

Deputies received a complaint from a concerned citizen reporting two males with heavy accents saying they were agents with the Sheriff’s Office. They told the victim they were collecting back taxes and advised her to go to a CVS Pharmacy and purchase Green Dot pre paid cards in $500 increments.

When the victim told them she was calling the police,  they strongly advised her not to get a 3rd party involved and that they would come to her house and arrest her for disobeying them. The victim advised authorities that the number on caller ID belongs to the Sheriff’s Office.
