Quincy’s 65th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner, hosted by Blessed Sacrament Parish in the tradition of St. Boniface, will be held on Saturday, March 15 at the Knights of Columbus in Quincy.

The serving will be from 11 to 7 at a cost of $9 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12 and free for children under six. Carry outs will be available by calling 228-9360.  Also look for the Leprechaun Lottery while you are there.

I remember going to my first St. Boniface St. Patrick's Day Dinner when I first came to Quincy in 1978. It was held in the gymnasium  and the lines were long.  When I finally got to the food, there it was and I was surprised to see it... ribs and kraut.

I thought, who serves ribs and kraut at an Irish dinner? I quickly found out why. With Quincy being a German town it became obvious as to why ribs and kraut were available along with corned beef and cabbage. It was that way then and it will be that way again this Saturday.

Whichever plate you choose you won't go wrong this Saturday at the K of C.
