After months of delays the Adams County Sheriff’s Department has finally moved into their new facility at 6th and Broadway in Quincy. According to a WGEM-TV report, all administrators and deputies have been relocated in the new building with the inmates expected to be re-located in June.

According to Adams County Sheriff Brian VonderHaar the new facility will be much safer for all employees and will be capable of housing additional inmates and immediately solve the current inmate over-population situation in the old facility.  According to the report, staff training on the new technology in the new building has been going on for months in advance of the move.

This facility will be home to both the Adams County Sheriff's Department as well as the Quincy Police Department. It is anticipated that the Quincy Police Department will also follow suit and re-locate in the new building in June.
