NASA has announced that a huge asteroid is headed toward Earth and will come within approximately 745,000 miles of Earth on the night of January 26.

NASA says with its close proximity to Earth that all it will take is a pair of binoculars to catch a glimpse of it as it goes by. The asteroid is expected to pass safely by on Monday without striking Earth.

The asteroid, known as “2004 BL86” is about a third of a mile in size will be the closest any space rock comes to Earth until asteroid “1999 AN10” flies past in 2027.
