Your old Christmas tree can help the fish at Mark Twain Lake.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake encourages local citizens to participate in the eighth annual Christmas tree recycling program. Christmas trees can be taken to a collection site at the John Spalding Boat Ramp.

The Trees will be bundled together and sunk in Mark Twain Lake, creating underwater fish structures to make an excellent place for fish to rest. This underwater habitat encourages the growth of algae and zooplankton for young fish to feed on which enhances growth.
