Winter officially arrives this Wednesday at 4:44 a.m. Central Time. The official term for winter arriving is the Winter Solstice.

The Winter Solstice marks the longest night in Northern Hemisphere and longest day in the Southern Hemisphere meaning we will all experience the shortest day of sunlight on Monday in the Northern Hemisphere and the longest day of sunlight in the Southern Hemisphere.

Therefore, beginning Wednesday the days (meaning time of sunlight) will get longer until we reach the height of daylight per day on the Summer Solstice which will take place on Tuesday, June 20.
