The 45th Annual Quincy Arts Center High School Art Competition has concluded and the winner’s names have been announced. This year, 105 students entered 257 works of art. From those works submitted, Ann Codditngton, guest judge for this year's competition and Professor of Studio Art at Eastern Illinois University, selected 100 pieces from 67 students for display.  This exhibition, along with the 2nd Annual High School Art Teacher Exhibit and Ann Coddington’s Made & Found, will be on display at the Art Center through Friday, March 1. The Art Center is located at 1515 Jersey St. in Quincy, IL. Admission is free and open to the public.

Award winners for this year's competition include:

Best of Show- Laken Hugenberg of Canton R-V, Self Discovery, mixed media.

Second Place- Brianna Blickhan of Unity High for Still Life, charcoal.

Third Place- Zayne Gaus of Highland High, The Hotel, acrylic.

Merit Awards- Abby White of Logan Private Studio and Mariah Shoemyer of Monroe City R-1.

Honorable Mention Awards- Janessa Grammer of Western High, Lauren Fortner of Monroe City R-1, and Cierra Courtois of Quincy Notre Dame.

Great River Watercolor Society Awards- Iva Welbourne of Pittsfield High and Josie Zeiger of Hannibal High.

Quincy Artist Guild Awards - Kyleigh Gibbs of Hannibal High, Mary Claire Thomas of Hannibal High, and Adam Kirkpatrick of Quincy Notre Dame.

Art Teacher Award - $300 towards art supplies for the classroom, Josh McCurdy of Hannibal High,
