It was 35 years ago today that 83 million television viewers, and most likely you were one of them, were glued to the TV to watch the the CBS prime-time soap opera Dallas to find out "Who shot J.R.?"

It turned out to be Kristin Shephard who was played by Mary Crosby. 'Dallas' was the number one program on TV that year and this particular episode began a tradition of TV shows holding season ending cliff hangers.

Also on this date in 1976, the movie 'Rocky' opened in theaters around the country featuring Sylvestor Stallone. Several sequels, including the new Creed movie, followed in the years after it's debut 39 years ago today.
