Veterans Day Ceremony Sunday at 10am at Illinois Veteran’s Home
It was the 11th hour of the 11th day on the 11th month when World War One finally came to an end. It was called Armistice Day and still is by many although most people call it Veterans Day now. Tomorrow in honor of Veterans Day, the Illinois Veterans’ Home in Quincy will hold it’s Annual Veterans Day Program.
The program will begin at 10am and will end with a 21 Gun Salute and the playing of Taps at 11am. The featured speaker will be Colonel Annita Best of the United States Marine Corps Reserves. The Quincy Notre Dame High School Band will also be preforming patriotic music.
I have been honored to be asked to be the master of ceremonies for the event and am proud to be able to do so. This event is open to all in the area and school children are welcomed to attend as well.
