I have been waiting patiently for weeks to see if the owner of this American Flag will do the right thing and replace it with a new one and it has not happened yet.

I am sure you have seen it as it flies, or should I say hangs there, over one of Quincy's most traveled streets. If you drive down Broadway you will see it between 8th and 9th.

The flag should be removed as soon as possible and replaced with a new one (or hang no flag at all). A flag in that condition needs to be "retired" for a proper disposal.

For those who are unaware, according to the United States Flag Code, a flag can be mended when necessary. If a flag is so worn it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of our country, it should be retired and destroyed by burning in a dignified manner.

I will even offer to purchase a new flag as a replacement if that's what it takes to replace it. Let's fly the American Flag proudly again!
