Things to Do in Quincy on St. Patrick’s Day

Get out your green clothes, St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner! Here are some of the fun things to do in Quincy on St. Patrick's Day!

The St. Patrick's Day Parade

Sponsored every year by Y101, the 2013 St. Patrick's Day Paradewill be on March 16. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and travels from 12th and Maine to 5th and Maine. There is no charge to be in the parade, but you have to wear green! Be sure to join us after the parade for a party in Washington Park! Commemorative t-shirts available for sale along the parade route and in the park: $10 short sleeve, $18 long sleeve. Food available from Hy-Vee. Music by Mobile Mania DJ service.

Pub Crawl 

The Historic Quincy Business District will host the 9th annual Pub Crawl on March 16. Crawlers will be transported by bus from pub to pub in a festive atmosphere. The crawl begins at 7 p.m. and lasts for five hours. It starts and ends at the Phoenix and bars that will be included on the crawl include Fitz’s on 4^th, Martinis at 515, O’Griff’s Grill & Brewhouse, The Scoreboard, Kutters, Heartland Saloon and One Restaurant. The cost is $20 per person, and reservation forms are available on the Historic Quincy Business District web site.

Kelly's St. Patrick's Day Fun Run/Walk

Registration for the Kelly's St. Patrick's Day 5K Fun Run/Walk begins at 8 a.m., the race starts at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 17. Advance registration is $20, registration the day of the race is $25. A family rate of $50 is available for three or more runners. The race route is relatively flat with minor hills. Trophies and medals will be awarded to overall winners and division winners. All proceeds from the 5K benefit the Quincy YWCA. Call YWCA office for registration information at 217-221-9922.

64th Annual St. Patrick's Day Dinner

Hosted by Blessed Sacrament Parish, the 64th Annual St. Patrick's Day Dinner will be at the Quincy Knights of Columbus Fr. McGivney Hall on Saturday, March 16 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children 6 - 12. Children under 6 are free. Carry outs will be available, and can be ordered by calling 228-9360.
