Where did the last 20 years go? I mean, it seems like just yesterday I was a senior in high school getting ready to embark on college. Now, 20 years later, I am a wife, mother of two, and radio veteran now in my sixteenth year. If that doesn't make me feel old (and don't worry, it does), looking back at some of my favorite songs from 20 years ago just might.

Smash Mouth "All Star"

This was a huge hit for Smash Mouth back in the summer of '99. They recently got back together and dropped a new single in November. I'm hopeful that they'll be releasing an album soon (maybe).

Backstreet Boys " I Want it That Way"

You couldn't go anywhere in 1999 without hearing this sugary sweet boy band pop classic. The Backstreet Boys--who have been around for (no joke) 26 years-- will soon be out on their DNA World Tour which has scheduled stops in Chicago on August 10, St. Louis on September 6, and Kansas City September 7.

Christina Aguilera "Genie In A Bottle"

This was the album I would throw in the CD changer when I was getting ready to head out on a Friday night (high school and college). The song was from Christina's self-titled debut album, and is still one of my top ten all time favorite albums ever.

Lou Bega "Mambo No. 5"

I was always mad at this song because it seems to have every girl's name in the book except mine. I guess "Samantha" doesn't rhyme with anything. Oh well. It was still a guilty pleasure favorite of mine during the last year of the 1990s.

Britney Spears "(You Drive Me) Crazy"

Oh Britney. We've been through so much together. You sang the soundtrack to my college party days. And when my sister and I would drive home from college (it was a four hour drive), you can bet we were jamming out to Britney no matter what. Britney is now getting ready for her second residency in Vegas which runs from February to August of this year.
