Do you know that Quincy University has a women's aviation program? They are called The Lady Sky Hawks, and two members of that team are taking to the skies in a 2,400 mile cross-country race against some of the nation's top female pilots in the 39th Air Race Classic

This competition traces its roots to the 1929 Women's Air Derby, widely considered the beginning of women's air racing in the United States. The Lady Sky Hawks are the first Quincy University affiliated team to ever enter the competition.

The Lady Sky Hawks team includes junior aviation/aviation management major Krystal Felderman and Great River Aviation flight instructor Casie Schaffer, a 2011 alumna of QU's aviation program. The Lady Hawks are the first Quincy University affiliated team to enter the competition.
