It is that time of year. Graduation. And with graduation comes gifts, congratulations and parties.

Yes, many parties. In our house, we have received many invitations. We went to one last night for Logan Hicks, a graduate of Hannibal High School. Logan is a  very good athlete that will play college football at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri. Many schools wanted him, but he chose the one that fit him best. Some students don't take the time to find the right college. They go because so-and-so is going. Not Logan. He is a very good athlete and will be a big asset to his school's football program. He and the college will  both win.

It takes a lot of work and many hours of thinking it through where to go. Logan made the right choice for him and he will make a very good running back, quarterback, or punter. His freshman year will be one of  trying to figure out which position suites him best and where the coaches think is the best spot for him on the team. It will be a very interesting year for Logan and all the new high school graduates, and a learning experience. That is what it is all about, learning. In the class room and on the football field.
