Well tonight at midnight will mark the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019. Most of us watch the big ball come down at Times Square in New York and prepare for their final hour of this year. I am not one of them. When that ball drops down it will actually end my year and starts a new one. Why am I different? (Don't answer that!) Well, because I am an East Coast baby. In real life time, 11 p.m. tonight will really be my 12 midnight.

Being born in Brooklyn, New York, makes my new year arrive an hour before all Midwest babies. So happy early New Year to me. Sorry you have to wait an extra hour. It also means I don't have to stay up another hour to usher in a new year.

Whether you celebrate at 11 p.m. or midnight tonight, please do it safely and if you are out partying please have a designated driver to get you home safely.  May 2019 be a prosperous and healthy year for you and your family. Happy New Year !
