Summertime can be a hard time for blood banks. Donations tend to decline when school gets out.

The annual 12 Hours of Giving will be held on May 22 at the Quincy Blood Donation Center, located at 3000 N. 23rd Street in Quincy. Many people will be going on vacations, and the 12 Hours of Giving will help ensure that cancer patients, trauma victims and surgery patients will have the blood products they need during the summertime.

Donors of all blood types are needed.  And it is so easy to do. Call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment. The Red Cross makes it so easy to do and you are in and out in know time knowing you gave the gift of life.
