The 7 Best Baseball Games (That You Can Go to for Free)!
So as you may have heard, y101 is sending one lucky baseball fan and a guest to any Major League game in the continental United States (sorry, Toronto) from June 1 to June 29. That is 383 games to choose from! Not a bad deal at all!
And seeing as though I work here and all and thus am ineligible to win (believe me, I checked), I figured the next best thing would be to give you a little guide as to the best games that you and a guest can go see on our dime.
A rematch of the 2015 World Series (without the frigid temperatures) is certainly going to be a hot ticket in Queens. And who knows, you might see Jerry Seinfeld!
Celebrating 70 years in 2016, Old Timers’ Day at Yankee Stadium is one of the best regular season traditions you’ll find in all of baseball. No word yet on which old timers are set to make an appearance (with the exception of 40-year-old Alex Rodriguez who is still on the active roster).
It’s freaking “Zombie Day” at Petco Park! You can get all dolled up as the “Walking Dead” version of yourself, take home a weird Padres zombie bobblehead doll, and watch some seriously terrible baseball that, in itself, verges on undead.
For the first time in a while, the Cubs have the odds in their favor and the pieces in place to win their first title since 1908. But Dusty Baker’s Nationals have arguably the best player on the planet in Bryce Harper and he’s not the only hotshot in that lineup. But the real reason this game cracks the list? It’s $1 ice cream day!
Not only will you catch a historic Fenway Park stop on the David Ortiz Farewell Tour, but you’ll take home a wicked awesome “Big Papi Garden Gnome” as well!
Why drive 150 miles to see the Cardinals when you can fly 3,000 miles to see them? I’d do it!
These are two of the lowest attended teams in the majors playing against each other. On a Tuesday. In Cleveland. You and your guest seriously might be the only ones there. And admit it, that would be pretty cool.
