Olympic Day is a springtime tradition. Students in grades 5 through 8 love this time of the year.

Olympic Day, held since 1993, will feature track and field and team events for students from Holy Family School in Hannibal, St. Mary School in Mt. Sterling, and the four Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools: Blessed Sacrament, St. Dominic, St. Francis, and St. Peter. The 22nd annual Olympic Day competition will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Flinn Stadium. The day will begin with an Opening Ceremony that includes reciting an Olympic Oath written specifically for the event.

Olympic Day events include boys' and girls' running long jump, softball throw, football punt, discus throw, javelin throw and hammer throw. Track events include boys' and girls' 25 yard, 50 yard, 75 yard, 100 yard and 200 yard dashes. Team events will include boys' and girls' 4x50 and 4x100 relays, tug of war and sling shot.

Students from Quincy Notre Dame High School will assist the faculty and staff in coordinating the various events. Parents and other family member are invited to watch the events an any time during the day.
