Teaching Children About Memorial Day

All of us adults know why we celebrate Memorial Day, but what about the children around our area?

They need to  know of this holiday and why we celebrate it. Memorial Day is a reminder that freedom is never free. We have to keep working at it, everyday. It is important to explain this to kids, and to teach them that the military men and women who came before us gave their lives so we could be free. The older I get, the more I respect what America means and how we got to this point.

Sometimes it is not easy to tell our children that people died so we could be here today. Thanks to the moms and dads who talk with their kids about what it means to wave the flag or salute a military person. It will stick with them for the rest of their lives.
