As a guy who occasionally likes to (poorly) sing karaoke, I still learn lyrics to popular songs while reading the words on the screen as other people sing. Lyrics that I thought I already knew.

When I was a kid, I would hear the popular song "Takin' Care of Business" by B.T.O. and proudly and confidently sing along ... "Takin' Care of Biscuits". Hey, I was seven years old. Prince's "Little Red Corvette"? I had a whole other lyrical version of that song. Sadly, my version was so far off base I can't reveal it here.

Other confusions: "There's a bad moon on the rise" sure sounds like "there's a bathroom on the right". I know it doesn't make sense. But, then again, lots of the ACTUAL lyrics don't make any sense either.

What are some of your lyrical confusions?
