Motorists traveling both north and south on U.S. 61 just north of Troy will be detoured beginning at 12 noon today (Friday, June 19). The Missouri Department of Transportation is closing both bridges at the Cuivre River due to high water against the bridges.

Weather permitting, MODOT crews will be working on the Salt River Bridge on US 61 near Route O on August 26 and 27. This stretch of highway is between Hannibal and New London.

US 61 Reopens Near Bowling Green

Updated - Traffic is flowing once again on Highway 61 in Pike County.  A section of US 61 south of the US 54 overpass near Bowling Green was closed earlier this afternoon.   The highway was closed for a time due to low hanging power lines resulting from a vehicle accident.

US 61 to Re-Open at Alexandria at Iowa State Line This Morning

MoDOT crews will open US 61 at Alexandria in Clark County at approximately 11:00 a.m. today after it has been closed for almost two weeks due to flooding.  Crews have cleaned up the area and repaired the damage to the shoulders and road.
