A cornhole tournament will be held at The Dock in Quincy on Sunday, September 27, to help local band Avenue Beat with their ongoing expenses as they work toward a Nashville record deal.
One of the best times you can have in February is being a part of the Mid-Mississippi Muddy Water Blues Society's Blue Note Open which will be held this Saturday. This popular fundraiser features indoor golfing at 12 different bar locations.
The 8th Annual Smoke on the River BBQ Contest will be held this Friday and Saturday at Kesler Park in Quincy. The Quincy Exchange Club hosts the event with nearly $6,000 worth of prizes being awarded Saturday afternoon to the winners. To kick off the event, the Exchange Club will sponsor a Hog Roast at Kesler Park in front of The Dock from 5 to 8 p.m.
Well, it is Smoke on the River time, and with it comes great weather, fabulous BBQ, ice cold beverages and some fantastic blues music from Dave Chastain and his DC3 Band. Dave, originally from the South and now from the Peoria area, is well known in the Blues world and will entertain the crowd at The Dock Friday night from 7 to 11.
The Quincy Riverfront will be buzzing through Saturday beginning tonight with the 17th Annual Walk to End Alzheimer's at Clat Adams Park. Then Friday and Saturday the Quincy Exchange Club's 7th Annual Smoke on the River BBQ event will be held at Kesler Park and The Dock.
