Summer Solstice

I believe it is safe to assume that we all just lived through the worst Spring of our lifetime. The last full day of Spring officially ends today with summer arriving tomorrow afternoon.

Today marks the official arrival of summer. It’s officially called the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and it arrives officially at 10:54 a.m. central time. It is the day when the sun is the furthest to the north that it will get which also means that today we will have the longest amount of daylight as well.

Winter officially arrives this Wednesday at 4:44 a.m. Central Time. The official term for winter arriving is the Winter Solstice.

While most of us were sleeping we all fell into the summer solstice at 12:04 am Central Time. According to Wikipedia the summer solstice occurs when the tilt of a planet's semi-axis, in either the northern or the southern hemisphere, is most inclined toward the sun that it orbits...
