St. Patrick's Parade

It is time to sign up for the upcoming 29th Annual St. Patrick’s Parade to be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. The parade will start at 12th and Maine Streets and proceed to 5th and Maine Streets and is open to all businesses, organizations and individuals free of charge.

So here we are some 17 days away from making our 28th stroll down Maine Street as part of the St. Patrick's Parade. As of this writing we have 31 entries and most likely will be around 90 again like last year. One of the things we always are in need of is Irish music in the parade.

The 28th Annual St. Patrick's Parade in Quincy will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 11 a.m. The parade will begin at 12th and Maine and end at 5th and Maine Streets.

It was back in 2008 when Dick McKinney asked me if I would come to a meeting to help revive the Veteran's Day Parade in Quincy. It had been some 35 years since Quincy held a Veteran's Day Parade and Dick was hoping I would be able to share some contacts and information from the St. Patrick's Parade with him. I was more than happy to assist.

As a followup to our St. Patrick's Parade Saturday, someone turned in a medical bracelet that was found along the parade route (see picture).  If you have lost your green medical bracelet it is available for pickup at the Y101 studios behind the Coach House Restaurant at 24th and Broadway anytime from 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday...

The annual St. Patrick's Day Parade is Saturday in Quincy! If your organization has signed up to be in the parade, find your spot in the official lineup!

We are just four days away from the start of the 27th Annual St. Patrick's Parade so I thought I would give everyone a little update on where we are and what is going to happen. The parade as of this writing has 85 entries and it may set a record for the most entries ever (which is 92).

Y101 has been sponsoring the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Quincy for years, but we're doing something new in 2013!

It's Veteran's Day weekend and there are plenty of activities planned in the area including the 5th Annual Veteran's Day Parade tomorrow in Quincy. Last year there were 92 entries and this year the total is 93. The parade goes from 12th to 5th on Maine and begins at 10am.
