Don’t Expect to Hear Mike Shannon & John Rooney for World Series Games

If the St. Louis Cardinals are fortunate enough to make it to the World Series, don’t expect to hear Mike Shannon and John Rooney do the play-by-play on radio. With the exception of the Cardinals flagship station, KMOX, stations on the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Network will be forced to carry the ESPN Radio broadcast of the World Series games with Dan Shulman and John Kruk.

Back on July 17 I had the honor of being invited to attend St. Louis Cardinal Broadcaster Mike Shannon's 75th birthday party. The event was held at Shannon's Restaurant in downtown St. Louis. Upon arrival, there was a huge birthday card for all to sign next to the steps leading up to the restaurant. On the other side was a Budweiser Clydesdale.
