To be 12 years old and be gunned down in Chicago is absolutely horrible, but to be 12 year old Rayshone Humphrey Jr. and be gunned down on a street in Quincy is horrific. It just doesn't happen here.

The 29th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is in the books. Many thanks to everyone for being in the parade and coming down to watch it as we finally “Ushered in Spring”. With over 100 entries, this year’s parade was the biggest ever, surpassing the previous record of 94 entries.

It was one of the most interesting classes I have ever taken and it is available for the public again. I am referring to the Quincy Police Department’s 2015 Spring Citizen’s Police Academy. I graduated from the class in May of 2003. It was the quickest 10 weeks of my life and each week when the class would end I did not want to leave.

Don't you just love it when people do things and then won't own up to it? Such is the case this morning after I noticed that the fence around our radio tower at the station parking lot was struck by someone who apparently decided not to say anything and just drive off.

Some 32 years ago on this date, seven people in the Chicago area died mysteriously. The only common denominator in their deaths was that they all used Extra Strength Tylenol. Shortly thereafter, it was determined that they all took Tylenol capsules that were laced with cyanide. The year was 1982. That was two years before the name Dr. Michael Swango became newsworthy.
