Homeward Bound Waggin is an organization that has taken over for Paw Pals which closed their doors months ago. They are handling the many requests for assistance for emergency medical costs, something Paw Pals had been handling. Like Paw Pals, they are in need of additional funds to be able to help people with pets.

This afternoon, Y101 and KICK-FM will be holding a Pet Food Drive-Thru Drop Off in our parking lot behind the Coach House Restaurant. All of the pet food going to the Paw Pals Pet Food Pantry. The hours for the collection will be from 3 to 5 this afternoon and you don't even need to get out of your car.

For the past 12 years Paw Pals has been there assisting owners of pets with monetary assistance for pet foot and supplies. They have been dedicated to bettering the lives of pets and their owners in the area. It was with great sadness that I read a letter I received last week from Jane Holt, the Executive Director for Paw Pals, that stated that the organization will cease it's operations.

I spent my Saturday at a very fun event called the Barkus Parade. It's a dog parade with the dogs dressed, some not all, in Mardi Gras attire along with their owners.
