Today marks the 73rd anniversary of the atomic bomb being dropped on Hiroshima, Japan by the United States. It was done thanks to a Quincy native.

This historic anniversary happened on Sunday which explains why there was little or no mention of it. It was August 6, 1945 and the United States was involved with World War Two on two fronts, in Europe and also in the South Pacific.  Supplies were waning with fighting going on in two different parts of the world at the same time.
